IT giant Infosys has completed the acquisition of MRE Consulting, a technology and business consulting firm, in an all-cash deal worth $36 million (approximately Rs 305 crore). The acquisition was executed through Infosys’ wholly-owned subsidiary, Infosys Nova Holdings.
MRE Consulting, founded in 1994, brings over 200 professionals and specializes in delivering consulting services to industries such as energy and utilities, healthcare, and services. The firm is known for its expertise in energy and commodity trading and risk management (E/CTRM).
This strategic acquisition, announced earlier on April 17, is expected to enhance Infosys’ digital transformation capabilities, particularly in the energy sector. Infosys stated that it is witnessing a significant increase in demand for digital transformation in energy and commodity trading, and risk management.
By integrating MRE Consulting’s strong E/CTRM expertise with Infosys’ established leadership in the energy, resources, and utilities space, the company aims to deliver even greater value to its global clients. The deal also opens up access to new clients and creates synergies with fresh buying centers.
With this acquisition, Infosys not only strengthens its consulting capabilities but also positions itself to lead the future of digital transformation in the energy domain.
