Mukesh Ambani, Asia’s richest man and chairman of Reliance Industries, continues to expand his business empire with strategic acquisitions and product launches. His FMCG arm, Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL), has now introduced a premium juice brand, Sun Crush, into the Indian market. This move strengthens Reliance’s presence in the beverages sector, where it already owns RasKik, a brand it acquired two years ago.

Reliance Acquires India Rights for Sun Crush

RCPL has secured the India rights for Sun Crush from Sri Lankan cricket legend Muttiah Muralitharan’s company, Ceylon Beverage International. Instead of relying on imports, Reliance has started local manufacturing of the juice brand, ensuring competitive pricing to capture market share.

Aggressive Pricing to Compete with Top Brands

Sun Crush is set to compete directly with leading juice brands such as ITC’s B Natural, Amul Tru, Paperboat, and PepsiCo’s Tropicana. The brand’s 200 ml pack will be priced at just ₹20, making it an attractive option for consumers. With this pricing strategy, Reliance aims to disrupt the growing Indian beverages market, which is projected to reach ₹1.47 trillion by 2030. This market includes fruit-based beverages, juices, bottled water, and carbonated drinks.

Reliance’s Growing Dominance in FMCG

Reliance has been expanding its footprint in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector through acquisitions and partnerships. The introduction of Sun Crush further strengthens its portfolio, offering customers a premium juice option at an affordable price.

Reliance Industries: India’s Most Valuable Firm

Reliance Industries continues to dominate the Indian corporate landscape, holding the title of the country’s most valuable company with a market capitalization of ₹16.76 lakh crore (as of March 18, 2025). Meanwhile, Mukesh Ambani’s real-time net worth stands at $91.8 billion, as per Forbes, solidifying his position among the world’s wealthiest individuals.

With Reliance’s entry into the premium juice segment, consumers can expect high-quality beverages at competitive prices, further intensifying competition in India’s booming beverage industry.
